Telling the time, Using money, designing wind-up toys and a trip to Roscoff
We have had such as busy term and have been working very hard to learn lots of new things. In Numeracy we have been telling the time, using money, measuring length, mass and capacity and working hard with numbers. In Literacy we have been using non fiction books to look at the different ways we can present text and dictionaries to help us find out the meaning of a word. We have even made our own class dictionary. In 2S we are really keen to achieve our layered targets in Numeracy, Writing and reading. In DT we have been investigating wind up toys, looking at the different ways they work and then designing our own toy. We are now making the toys we designed. Our Geography topic was learning about Barnaby Bears holiday to Roscoff in Brittany. We packed his suitcase, made him a passport and looked at how Barnaby would get from Chester to Roscoff. We carried out a comparison between Roscoff and Edenbridge and even learnt some French words. We found some great Barnaby Bear games to play on the BBC website.
Here we are using dance to tell the story of 'Joe's Cafe'
