The Nursery Team
Our teaching team in The Nursery consists of 4 main members of staff:
Hello, my name is Joanne Hopton. I am the Nursery Teacher. I studied at South Bank University and gained a Foundation degree with a specialism in Early Years in 2007. Then I gained a BA Hons in Early Years in 2009 after further studying at London Metropolitan University. I have been an Early Years practitioner in the London Boroughs of Bromley, Croydon, Lewisham and Bexley.
I really enjoy my job and working with the children, as every day is different! My job satisfaction comes from seeing the children learn and develop so much throughout their time at the nursery, so that they move up to Reception with confidence and go on to do well throughout their time at Edenbridge Primary School. I look forward to meeting you and your children soon!
Hello, my name is Sharron Medhurst; I am a Nursery Nurse. I have an NVQ level 3 in Play Work and an NVQ level 3 in Childcare and Education. I have been working at Edenbridge Primary School for several years and have seen my own children pass through! My experience has been varied with working in different years, and since joining The Nursery team I have not looked back! I really love working with the younger children, watching them learn through play and providing them with a head start in their educational journey.
Welcome! My name is Wendy Ayles; I am one of the Teaching Assistants supporting in the Nursery. I have three children, my eldest is at secondary school and my other two are at Edenbridge Primary School. I really enjoy forming relationships with the children and seeing them develop until they are ready for Reception. I have been involved with the school for many years and am now very excited to be involved in supporting the school in this role.
Hello, my name is Kerry Jones. I am a mum of three young children here at Edenbridge Primary School and also one of the Teaching Assistants supporting in The Nursery. I enjoy watching and helping the children develop new skills and grow in confidence, ready for their transition to ‘big school’!
